How to convert a PDF to JPG

  1. Click "Choose file" and select your PDF.
  2. Choose all pages or type the pages you want, such as 1-3, 7.
  3. Pick JPG or PNG and a resolution, then click "Convert to images".
  4. Click "Download" for one image or "Download ZIP" for several.

Which format and resolution should I pick?

Choose JPG for scanned pages and pages full of photos. The files are much smaller and easy to email or upload. Choose PNG for pages that are mostly text, charts or diagrams. PNG is lossless, so thin lines and small letters stay crisp, but files are larger.

For resolution, 72 DPI is enough for a quick screen preview or thumbnail. 150 DPI looks sharp on screens and is a sensible default for sharing in chats, slides or web pages. Use 300 DPI when you plan to print the image, and expect noticeably bigger files.

How the downloaded files are named

Each image is named after your PDF and its page number, for example report-page-03.jpg. The numbers are zero-padded so pages stay in the right order when you sort them in a folder. If you convert one page you get a single image; several pages come together in one ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert only some pages of a PDF to images?

Yes. Switch from all pages to chosen pages and type the page numbers or ranges you want, such as 2, 5-8. Only those pages are converted.

Can I get PNG instead of JPG?

Yes. The same tool converts PDF to PNG. Pick PNG before you click "Convert to images". It is the better choice for text-heavy pages and diagrams.

Will rotated pages come out the right way up?

Yes. The converter respects each page's rotation, so a page that displays in landscape in your PDF viewer is saved as a landscape image.

Why does it say a page was rendered at a lower resolution?

Some devices, mostly phones and tablets, limit how large an image the browser can draw. When a very large page at a high DPI would go over that limit, the page is rendered at a lower resolution instead, and the app tells you so. A desktop browser or a lower DPI setting usually avoids it.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in the normal mobile browser. On phones, very large PDFs (roughly over 200 MB) can be slow or fail because of device memory, so convert fewer pages at a time if that happens.

Can I use it offline?

Yes. After your first visit the tool works without an internet connection, and you can install it as an app on desktop and Android.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Not yet. PDFs that need a password to open can't be processed for now. Unlocking is planned.
