LocalPDF is built on excellent open-source software. We are grateful to the people who make it. The main components and their licenses are listed below; the complete list, with full license texts, is in the third-party notices file.
Main components
These libraries do most of the work in your browser:
- pdf-lib (MIT): creating and editing PDF documents
- PDF.js by Mozilla (Apache-2.0): rendering PDF pages, including its OpenJPEG (BSD-2-Clause), JBIG2 (BSD-3-Clause, from PDFium) and QCMS (MIT) decoders
- Foxit and Liberation standard fonts distributed with PDF.js (BSD and SIL Open Font License)
- React and React Router (MIT): user interface
- Comlink (Apache-2.0): communication with the background worker
- fflate (MIT): ZIP creation and decompression
- dnd-kit (MIT): drag-and-drop reordering
- i18next (MIT), Zustand (MIT), Lucide icons (ISC)
