About LocalPDF
LocalPDF is a set of everyday PDF tools that run entirely in your web browser. Merge, split, compress, convert, rotate, number and watermark PDFs without uploading them anywhere.
Why we built it
Most online PDF sites upload your documents to their servers, then limit how many files you can process or how big they can be unless you pay. That's a poor deal for contracts, payslips, IDs and medical records, which are exactly the documents people need to merge or shrink in a hurry.
Modern browsers are powerful enough to do this work on your own device, so that's what LocalPDF does. There's no upload wait, no file-size paywall, no account and no daily limit.
How it works
When you add a file, it is read by your browser and processed in a background thread on your device using open-source libraries: pdf-lib to create and edit PDFs and PDF.js (from Mozilla) to render pages. The result is saved straight back to your device. After your first visit, the whole app is stored by your browser so every tool also works offline, and you can install it like a regular app.
How it's paid for
LocalPDF is free and supported by ads. Ads never get access to your files; see the privacy policy for details on ads and analytics.
